Let it Snow Let it snow Let it snow

I learned last night that I should write my blog posts in a word document first and then copy them to the blog. Mason woke up while I was writing my post. My computer timed out while I was putting him back to sleep and when I got back and published my blog post it lost everything I typed up.

So for the last couple days I have been clearing our driveway every few hours. Among all of this snow I did manage to take a few photos of the snow after most of it fell. I went out at 9 pm hoping to shoot a picture from the center of the snow covered road with the single street light illuminating the composition. Long story short I spent 10 mins figuring out why all my photos looked like I had a tripod mounted to a shaker table. Then once I figured it out, (always remember to shut off image stabilization on a tripod) a truck parked with his headlights on in the middle of my scene. I then went and found a shot I liked from the sidewalk cropping the truck just outside of the frame.

I went in and edited the photos I took and figured I would come back out after the people in the truck finished plowing the driveway and would try again. At about 10:30 I decided I would try again. This time I grabbed my 100 mm glass ball and put it in my pocket.

When I went outside I heard a bunch of teenagers yelling in front of our house. They were parked in the road where I was hoping to take a picture again. They were making a lot of noise and I could definitely smell something illegal out front. Well unless you have glaucoma.

I figured it was best to just go to the back yard and see if I could do something with my glass ball in the snow. I went to the back and put it on a deck post that had a little puff of snow on it and snapped a few shots at different focal lengths. After a few shots I decided i didn't want to trudge through the snow piles in the back yard and went in.

I planned to do a quick edit and go right to bed. While I was editing the photos I looked up at a print I have on the wall in our house and saw a photo of the glass ball in the summer and that got me thinking.

The glass ball looks like a snow globe.

What if the snow globe didn't have snow it it?

What if I reversed what the snow globe and had the snow on the outside?

What if I let out the snow?

Could I make it look like a summer day in the globe while its winter outside?
